I tried to post earlier, my computer whacked. So if it comes up twice, sorry. really. so Cooth, did we have to read in high school? I remember puppet shows with Mr. D, and our English teacher (pants on backwards) falling into the garbage can while reciting "Bells, bells, bells"..... I don't remember reading.
I remember Mrs. Perry made us read Great Expectations (umm, I didn't) I thought it sucked. And Mrs. Dees gave us a choice of a couple of books. I picked The Hobbit. But past that...no. Of course, there was the recitation of Green Eggs and Ham by Mr. D also. That was the best.
Now, Kt....I have to disagree with your selection of One fish....Green Eggs and Ham was a much better book. There is more depth to the characters, there is the suspense - Will he eat them???? Edge of your seat excitement. One Fish, it rhymes. whooppee.
I never had Mrs. Perry, I had Mrs. B. the one that fell in the garbage can. Mrs. Dees as a senior, 1st period so I skipped most of it.
One fish was a deep ideological musing on diversity in our world. Green Eggs and Ham was on how being judgmental or prejudiced can adversely affect the quality of our lives. I preferred the former because of its illustration.
(Yes, I was an English major in college; why do you ask?)
